Venugopal alleged that the ED has been deployed not as an independent investigative body, but as a tool to target the Congress’s top leadership and silence dissenting voices. According to him, the repeated summons and investigations have created widespread anger and resentment within the party ranks, reinforcing the perception that central agencies are being used selectively against opposition leaders.
Declaring that the party would no longer remain passive, Venugopal announced that the Congress is preparing for nationwide protests to expose what it describes as the abuse of investigative powers by the ruling establishment.
